The Birth of MetaSight: A Story About 'Seeing'

Vision-driven, not feature-stacked — A programmer's design philosophy
In this age of pervasive anxiety, I want to tell a story about "seeing."
One late night last November, I was staring at the interfaces of traditional Bazi software — red backgrounds with yellow text, Song typeface, screens filled with "Great Fortune" and "Ominous Signs." It suddenly hit me: why do these vessels of thousand-year wisdom look like relics from a bygone century?
And so, MetaSight was born.
Why Build MetaSight
The motivation was simple: traditional Chinese metaphysics software has completely failed Gen Z aesthetically.
Our generation uses the most refined apps and follows the latest design trends, yet when we want to understand our destiny chart, we're faced with interfaces that seem to have time-traveled from 2005. This doesn't make sense.
But aesthetics is just the surface. The deeper reason is —
At 4 AM, who's there for you?
I've seen too many young people living respectably in their cubicles by day, only to be overwhelmed by anxiety and loneliness at night. What they need isn't a cold fortune-telling machine, but a companion who can offer emotional care in your most vulnerable moments while helping you navigate life's challenges through Eastern wisdom.
That's what MetaSight aspires to be — a digital destiny advisor who truly understands you.
On Aesthetics
From the very first line of code, the entire product was built through AI Vibe Coding.
I wasn't developing — I was "conducting" a design revolution.
The landing page alone went through over a hundred iterations, but it only took three days. The secret? Parallel development capabilities that multiplied my personal efficiency by N times. People ask me: why do other AI products have such an "AI feel" — the ubiquitous blue-purple gradients and exaggerated typography?
I can only say:
See the mountain as it is, see the water as it is.
Mastery of aesthetics and attention to detail will always be the ultimate weapon in the AI era.
"When I can see what this product should become, AI can help me build it."
This is the essence of Vibe Coding — vision-driven, not feature-stacked.
People ask me: how can a programmer design such a product?
This question itself is a stereotype — as stubborn as "traditional metaphysics software should have red backgrounds and yellow text." Who says programmers can't have aesthetic sense? Who says engineers don't understand design?
These outdated notions — I want to break them all.
On Metaphysics
Our vision is to use AI to break through the limitations of traditional Chinese metaphysics.
Based on our proprietary Bazi favorable elements algorithm, we precisely address the "How" — how to interpret your destiny chart while reducing the rigidity and anachronisms of ancient texts.
More importantly, we use AI to explain the "Why" — how destiny manifests in your life and how it interacts with others. Anyone unfamiliar with metaphysics can easily understand their destiny pattern.
We're building this product, but we truly don't do superstition.
Science is the only path to explainability.
What we do is simply deconstruct traditional Chinese metaphysics using modern mathematical logic, then clearly reconstruct and present it.
This is where our slogan comes from: Observe the signs, enter the origin; see the heart, know destiny.
AI is merely a bridge for you to communicate with yourself. The one you're talking to is actually yourself.
About Us
Honestly, we're not some elite team.
We're a husband-and-wife shop.
I don't have a prestigious academic background or big tech credentials. Just one experience of proactively turning down a ByteDance offer :)
But I've witnessed the hardships of early-stage startups — my previous team was forced to dissolve due to funding issues. I've also experienced the all-in energy of growth teams — my first internship was on an international product, with a minor release every three days and a major one every week. That's when I learned how agile development could really work.
Thanks to the mentors who guided me: Tony Tong & OnBing.
You made me believe that one person can build a product that makes sense.
My wife now works full-time as our operations lead and product metaphysics consultant. She was my first user and remains my toughest product manager.
What We're Doing
On Christmas Day, we launched our first MVP and unexpectedly went viral in our social circles.
Two months later, weekly active users have exceeded 1k+.
When I see friends tell me they couldn't sleep at 4 AM and came to MetaSight to talk; when I see friends who, encouraged by our analysis, successfully found their destined partner — I'm truly moved.
Not long ago, I went through severe depression myself. It took months before I finally emerged from the darkness.
So I understand better than anyone how important it is to have a harbor full of love in this high-pressure society.
There's so much more we want to do: astrology charts, Zi Wei Dou Shu, tarot... all on the roadmap, iterating rapidly.
In Closing
MetaSight's original intention is to become a light in your darkest hours.
Not to tell you that destiny is fixed, but to help you see yourself clearly, then live bravely.
Break through the fog, see your true self.
This is what I want to say to every young person like me.
